Where this unit stands
According to press coverage of the presentation on 7 June 2026, Sentinel walkers were among the Astra Militarum vehicles shown — not confirmed by the publisher in any material we were able to open. On the tabletop a Sentinel is a one-pilot walker with a weapon mount and almost no armour, used to scout and to harass. No statistic has been published for any unit in this game.
What the tabletop establishes
The Sentinel is the lightest armoured thing the Imperial Guard fields, and it exists in the setting because an army of foot soldiers and heavy tanks has nothing in between. It goes where tanks cannot, sees what infantry cannot, and is lost easily. Its tabletop role is skirmishing and flank pressure rather than holding anything.
A one-pilot walker: two legs, a weapon mount, and almost no armour. On the tabletop it scouts, harasses flanks and dies quickly if it is caught.
Tabletop identity, as established by Games Workshop. It says nothing about the video game. What has actually been shown
Only its presence has been reported. Nothing has been published about how many walkers make a unit, what they cost, what they carry in this game, or what role they occupy in an army list. Anything more specific that you read today about Sentinels in this game is reasoning from the tabletop. What would move this page is narrow and easy to state: a unit entry on the publisher’s own site, or a segment of gameplay long enough to show a Sentinel formation moving and fighting. Neither has appeared. Until one does, the honest position is that the name has been reported and nothing attached to it has. Information correct as of 3 September 2026.
What to watch next
The open question is deceptively small and decides what the unit is for: is a Sentinel one machine on the field, or a group of them? Total War has fielded both — single entities that behave like characters, and formations that behave like cavalry — and the answer changes everything about how the unit is used and countered. A lone walker is a harassment tool that dies to any focused attention; a squadron of them is a flanking arm. The Warhammer trilogy solved this for monsters by making them single entities with large health pools, but a Sentinel is neither a monster nor a tank. Nothing has been announced. Reported by press coverage of 8 June 2026, not confirmed by the publisher. Information correct as of 18 August 2026.
What is not known
These questions have no published answer as of 8 June 2026. They are listed because an absence of information is information — and because we would rather name the gap than fill it.
